Many times in life we are all challenged to reach beyond our current abilities and performance.
These times are often difficult and life changing experiences.
They can push and pull us kicking and screaming into the future.
They can also leave us crying and lost, contemplating our value and purpose in life.
However, they are often the true turning points in our lives and can launch us rocketing into the future.
Blind and careless as to what comes next.
Change is filled with scary moments and near nightmarish days which can leave us trembling at the knees with no clue of what comes next.
But the future will always come and we all have to face the consequences of today, tomorrow.
In time you may come to realize that this does not have to be a bad experience.
Because the value of that experience is how we view it.
Was it a birthing to a better life? Is it a transformation into a new environment? Or does it bring you to the precipice of an abyss where the next step, will lead you towards your worst nightmare? Before we go anywhere, let's stop for a moment.
Take a moment and look around, who happens to be in the room with you right now? Who will be the very next person you will talk to? Who was the last person you spoke to before beginning to read this article? Believe it or not, they are the key to your being able to achieve your future, your dreams, and your life's real purpose.
They are your power to transform, your power to achieve and your power to succeed.
Moreover, most often, the person you feel that is least likely to be able to help you achieve your dreams, may very well happen to be the key person to your success.
I have just described my purpose for writing this article.
I have lived a life probably not more challenging than others but definitely more so than some.
For approximately 40 years I have often overlooked my most valuable possession, my family and my friends.
I have dismissed them, telling myself that they can't help.
I felt some of my friends and family would only criticize me; they wouldn't understand or even really care.
I totally missed the elephant that was offering me a ride to my dreams.
Instead I was telling myself, they just don't understand, so I would slug it out in the jungle, alone, selfishly mumbling and brain washing myself about how no one was helping me because they didn't care.
Boy was I wrong! But knowing that is not enough, knowing that your family and friends can help you truly is the key to your success will seem foggy and unclear.
You may challenge it, you may say to yourself that if you just had more money, or had more time you could transform your life.
Maybe you could, begin to transform your life, but if you valued your family and friends before you acquired more time or money you would do so after.
However, if you did not honor them before you gained fame you surely would not do so after.
The reason is that it takes time to change, it takes knowing how to untie the knots in your life or career that is holding you back from change.
It takes a new attitude and perspective, a servant's attitude, its not easy, which explains why you need family and friends to help you through this transition.
But the results can be astounding; they can really be life altering and is the only way to make change successful, repeatable and endurable.
Change has the power to embolden the meek, humble the boaster, and leave you with the desire to reach for the stars and have you wanting to celebrate with your friends and family; hopefully you haven't chased them away.
